About Me:

I'm an eternal student, I will always be pursuing some course of study to broaden my horizons and expand my knowledge.

I was classically trained as a chef at the Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, New York.  And I currently work at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California as a chef in the kitchen.  I'm also a student at Esalen, pursuing a course of study in Bodywork and personal development.  I'm very interested in Massage and the work of Moshe Feldenkrais.

I enjoy Fire Dancing, and playing the didgeridoo in my sparetime, though my interests always shift and fluctuate.  Right now I have a rather passionate interest in Israel and Hebrew, and Judaism, and am working hard with friends here to learn Hebrew, and hope to take a trip to Israel within a year.

I'm not an intensely religious person, but I am an intensely spiritual person, I see the whole of the world as an expression of god, who is himself, and expression of human potential, the greatness we can all achieve together.  His presence is everywhere, from the grass, to the air, to the ocean that sits outside my backdoor.  In the end it's a little bit of all that I've studied, Christianity, Buddhism, Zen, Wicca, and I'm starting to find much in Judaism.

I grew in Berlin, Germany amidst the Cold War, and was present for the fall of the wall.  It was, as I see now, a very profound time in my life.  When I saw the pain and suffering the eyes of those who had given up all hope, it let me truly appreciate my freedom and opportunity, and gives me cause to always fight for it, so none others have to suffer without it.
